After 10 years of Austin debauchery, I just stopped counting. Every year we all complain about how much bigger and corporate it is, and this will be the last year, and there’s no more indie acts, I’m not waiting in THAT line for BBQ, and then you book a ticket.
I remember doing a show as a DJ in Austin was once out of the question. I think Giant Step were the first out-of-towners to put 1200s to work, but locals like Chicken George, Jeff Strange, Toddy B, Peligrosa, and Matt Sonzala all knew there was a place for beats in Austin. Just remember to wear comfortable shoes and bring earplugs. Thanks ya’ll.
